Bringing Precision to Pediatric Robotic Surgical Care
Dr. Prabhu Karunakaran at ARIS 2025, Hyderabad.

The Advanced Robotic and Innovative Surgeons (ARIS) Conference 2025, held at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad from April 18–20, showcased global advancements in robotic surgery. Among the key speakers was Dr. Prabhu Karunakaran, Consultant Pediatric Urologist and Robotic Surgeon, who delivered a compelling session on Robotic Ureteric Reimplantation in Children.
Speaking on April 19th during the Urology session, Dr. Prabhu shared clinical insights into managing vesicoureteral reflux and obstructive uropathy using robotic-assisted surgery—a minimally invasive, high-precision technique ideal for Pediatric patients. He detailed the step-by-step procedure, highlighted the advantages of 3D magnified vision, fine suturing, and faster recovery in children.

Dr. Prabhu emphasized that while technology is powerful, it must be rooted in empathy and child-centered care. The session was chaired by Dr. Shakir Taherz, a leading Robotic Renal Transplant Surgeon, and Dr. Gopichand, an accomplished Urologist and Robotic Surgeon. Both commented on the clarity and clinical depth of the Innovative procedure.
Following the talk was a dynamic panel discussion on “Surgical Robotics in Pediatric Urology – Improving Outcomes”, further reinforcing the collaborative mission of ARIS 2025. As the curtains fell on the event, Dr. Prabhu emphasized how cutting-edge technology and compassionate Pediatric care can come together to transform young lives, one robotic procedure at a time.
